Microsoft pulled the plug on the Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates Ads. If you want to read more about that check out Ars Technica or Daily Tech. I actually found the Jerry and Bill ads entertaining. Granted they didn't really have any information in them, they did show a quirky sense of humor. I hope they come back in a more concise form later. The new ads replacing them are simple and too the point. They are a direct push back at Apple and their "I'm a Mac" ads. Maybe we can start to see the PC vs Mac ads as a type of secondary political campaign. At least that is what they remind me of. The mac ads painting the PC as boring older and a nerd. They try to showing how cool the Mac is. But do they backfire? Is John Hodgman really more likable? I know my brother thinks so and I tend to agree. These new Microsoft ads also are just positive no negativity or anything that you could see in the mac ads. Microsoft might be beating Apple at it's own game.
